brief >
Vidya, owner of the renowned Krishniah Chetty and Sons, came to me to shoot her heritage jewellery line. she was drawn to my editorial approach over e-commerce, which is what brought her to me, with complete creative freedom.
the focus was to build trust and reflect the legacy of a brand that has been around for generations.
approach>
the moment I saw the collection, I knew it had strong styling potential.
I wanted to show how heritage jewellery evolves.
how each generation reimagines it, keeping its beauty alive while giving it a new life.
that led to casting five generations of women.
real women, not models. to bring in relatability and truth.
we built a simple narrative.
a summer morning in the verandah. a grandmother bringing out her collection, passing it down, telling stories. from there, it moved naturally between storytelling and product.
result>
a mix of close-ups and wider, story-led frames.
light, texture, moments that feel lived-in.
the intention was to root it in real human experience.
so women could see themselves in it, and trust the brand with something as personal as their trousseau.
creative direction, styling, art direction, photography and post-production by me.
co-art direction: studio azhagi.
